Thought Checkfor the 3am mind
Six short steps for the thoughts that arrive when sight loss feels loudest. Designed from the ground up for people living with sight loss, not adapted from a sighted version. Use it on your own, with a screen reader, in large print, or alongside someone you trust.
Welcome. A thought is not a fact.
This is a short, gentle tool. It does not diagnose anything, and it is not a replacement for therapy. It is a practice for catching one of those loud, insistent thoughts that arrive with sight loss, and asking it a few honest questions.
There is no right answer. There is no score at the end. Take as long as you like with each step. You can come back to it any time.
A note on accessibility: every step is read by screen readers in order, all buttons are reachable by keyboard or switch, and nothing on the screen is required to be seen.
This tool is for reflection and learning. It is not a clinical assessment and is not a substitute for One-to-One therapy. If you are in crisis or having thoughts of self-harm, please contact your GP, the Samaritans on 116 123, or Pieta on 1800 247 247.
